Well that was the weirdest class outing I have ever been on.
I will try to do everything in chronological order, which is going to be really hard

Rendezvous at JiaHao’s place with Keith, ZiYing and JiaHao and went took a bus from SingPost to Parkway. Tried finding Mortal Kombat vs DC, which we couldn’t and looked for a microphone for JiaHao, which he didn’t buy because he purportedly already had a earphone. Which as a very strange excuse…

Walked over to East Coast’s McDonald’s and ate MEGA SPICY. Which was horrible to say the least, if not for the fact that I was so hungry for MEGA SPICY, I would say that I hated it as we played soccer after that and less than 15 minutes into it, my abdomen was screaming burning hell and I had to stop lol. So much for stamina

At around 4.30, went to rent bikes and around 5 left East Coast with Keith, Jin Yong, Leslie, Zhi Ying and Jun Xiang. Cycled from East Coast to Changi Village for dinner, from there, we split into two groups, I was with Jun Xiang, Leslie and Zhi Ying. Jun Xiang and I being superstitious people, decided against going back the way we came, which involved passing through Changi Beach again, which for some reason had no street lamps….

Went by the another way back, which on paper, looked a lot shorter but in actual fact took us a freakishly long time of 2-3 hours to get back to ECP. Cycled from Changi to Loyang to Pasir Ris to Tampines to Bedok Reservoir and back to East Coast.

Overall distance covered was around 40km. Time Elapsed: 1700 to 2200 5 hours. Cancelling downtimes spent eating at Changi Village which was around an hour and time spent wandering lost in the dark and pushing…. All the pushing

Looking at it, we really could have only taken like 3 and a half hours the next time we go at it. Barring cramps from people again, maybe even shorter. Bring a map maybe. And stop looking for roads haha.

By the time we returned to East Coast, it was already 10. Yikes. Walked with Jun Xiang and Leslie to the main road and walked back with Leslie, talking about all sorts of nonsensical stuff before returning to East Coast, where i just ate Mac till my Dad came haha.

Summation: I am going Bike Riding again. Very soon lol

Just had a crazy string of Left4Dead games with Jia Hao not 10 minutes ago. We played Expert mode and we pretty much made it through……. If not for those fucking Tanks

Furthest we got was the mini-crescendo moment before the end of the demo, Jia Hao got killed by a witch and we were down to 3 people even before I pushed the button, needless to say, we were absolutely mauled. Next game, the Tank spawned in the “pillars” as I would call it, we got murdered. Next time was at the “tunnels” ( I have no idea what they are called ) Next time was at the Subway, notice a trend? Over and over again.. The Tank kept respawning, closer and closer to the bloody saferoom, dammit man.

That and I started TK-ing Jia Hao for a change, in the safe room

Just heard that Fedor lost the World Sambo Championships, by decision. It was quite dumb if you hear it but it’s by their rules. Fedor got taken down 4pts, got pinned for a while, another 4 pts. THEN Fedor knocked him down with strikes….. Only 4 pts. And he was given a 10 count to recover…. That’s weird

And so the HW Tournament Begins

The Leeroy Jenkins of L4D. Just that the positions have been reversed. And only one person gets killed. It’s awesome

I was kind of pissed in the morning. More shocked than angry really.

I woke up and watch UFC 91 and wanted to see Randy Couture beat the crap out of Brock Lesnar. Round 1 was alright though Brock was visibly starting to become out of breath so I automatically assumed that Randy was going to take it into the later rounds.

I was wrong.

In the second round, Randy caught a huge elbow and was wobbled a bit before weaving to avoid a left but ate a huge right on the temple, hammerfists went unanswered and Brock Lesnar is now the UFC HW Champion.

Was speechless for a good while, until I realised. Nog is going to sub Mir and take out Lesnar. That or, Fedor is just going to exhibit what MMA’s really about.

Then, everything would be just fine.

Leaver’s

Last evening was the last time most of us Marists would have stepped into school till January.

It’s nice for a change that, for the first time in a while, we did not have to worry about formulas and whatnot. The atmosphere was there by the time I got there and maintained as the night wore on. ( I am obviously not counting the speeches, but that’s just me, I think)

I was actually rather worried before the whole shebang, I kind of lost my tie at home, or at least, couldn’t find it until I got home. By the time I reached the school, as usual, my sweat glands were in the red and perspiration ensued. Like Clockwork, guess some things will never change.

The teacher’s montage was pretty funny. In a so cheesy and bad that it’s kind of good way. You have to see the video for yourself to appreciate it’s badass-ness. For some reason, it reminded me of the english release of Resident Evil. Don’t ask

And finally, a school song that was P-E-R-F-E-C-T.

I didn’t take many pictures of the event. In hindsight, I should have taken some videos or some pictures with the teachers. Which did not happen because I left early as I really didn’t want to queue up to get my food. Went to Chomp Chomp with some of my classmates for dinner instead haha

I am feeling kind of weird about my Prelim 2 report card. The last time I counted I got 17 points for my L1R5. On the card, it wrote 20. Fine whatever. HOWEVER, it’s really dumb when you count my prelim 2 marks. JUST the prelim 2 marks. Apparently, I got 14 for my raw score… o…..k…

I finally found a way to circumvent the problem of not having servers to play with my friends this morning. Apparently, I can host my own server without paying anything while having optimal internet connections to everyone since, face it, Singapore is tiny, we can’t really stay far enough away that distance actually becomes a limiting factor to our internet experience lol.

Went to Jia Hao’s house in the afternoon to do the Chanbara thingy with Karim and his brother. I was worried that I may have gotten blisters the size of doorknobs like the last time haha.
This is from tomorrow, there is only one small one so far haha

Got home, played more Left4Dead with Jia Hao.

TADA! As far as I know, taking point really does net you more kills.

Ahem. Now What….?

‘O’ Levels officially ended yesterday. 9 AM. Though in actuality, it actually ended for most of us last Monday? Heck I don’t even know when it ended proper.

Anyway, after the Chem/Bio and Physics MCQ all wrapped up, I guess that really was the last of my barely-there mugging schedule for the year 2008. Life in Secondary School would culminate this Friday during Leaver’s Ceremony and I can have my 2 months of guilty-free fun, which would basically consist of me…… Sitting in front of this monitor…. Playing Games….. Crap my life is boring

After the paper’s yesterday, it is understandable that we were all kind of high haha, went to Chayadi’s house to play with some of my classmates. Played a little pool, which I totally suck at. I must admit though, despite my pre-conceived notions about Army of Two, well, sucking it really wasn’t that bad. Of course, I would still pick Gears over Ao2 but Ao2 is better in some aspects ( teamwork mechanics…. barely) while Gears is better in others (shooting, cover mechanics etc).

The Left4Dead Demo is out now to those who have not pre-ordered. Downloaded it off Steam this morning and have been pleased thus far, though if you gave me any game that contains Zombies, you pretty much have me hooked. Played with Jia Hao for a while, he doesn’t have a mic yet so it isn’t really that fun yet. Played with a few of my TF2 friends too. I have one major gripe with the game though, I am kind of afraid that there might not be that many servers around SG…

Obama won if for some case you don’t know. Came back from school just in time to watch him give his victory speech. Now to see what “change” he will do to the USA. Though I support him, I secretly harbour the hope that the US dollar will fall so that I can import games for less. But that’s just my narrow-minded repercussion-free thinking

Chinese paper was quite alright, though I did find the close passage a little on the tough side, which probably means that the rest of my friends would find the paper very, very easy Was kind of bored after the paper though, Finished it with around 35 minutes to spare. Tried sleeping in superman and lotus position for 5 minutes. Failed. So I had to spin my pen and pencils around for around 30 minutes. Gave up on spinning with my left hand after a while and spun with my right hand. While spinning I tried to make my mind wonder by playing Tetris…. Which failed because I kept dropping Z-shaped pieces on myself, which totally sucks.

So I stared at the teachers and President Nathan’s picture, listened to the fans, concentrating on the sound of pens scribbling and singing the 007 theme song in my head for the duration of 20 minutes. Sigh. How am I wasting my youth.

You have no idea how long I have been trying to find this song, apparently it was only posted on Youtube a few days back but I remember hearing it at the end of someone’s demo before hm. Apparently I must have used improper search terms on Google that time for I found what I wanted in the first 5 links Google provided. Go Figure

Finally bought Galactic Civilisations II! Kind of cheap if you think about it $88.63 for GalCivII and it’s 2 expansions .
I watched the tutorial, skipped the campaign and jumped straight into a custom game on Tough difficulty, needless to say I got my ass handed to me(and not on a silver platter I might add). So I decided a scale down (a few) notches. Getting used to the mechanics of the game now, though it is kind of difficult to try and absorb everything at once, letting it sink in right now.

My method of learning everything is simple, using swimming as an example. Throw someone into the water, nothing beats learning how to swim like being dumped in the middle of the ocean. That and, you can’t really drown in the calm blue

Just had my SS paper today, which to me is already the last paper for the “O” Levels. There is still Chinese and the Science MCQs of course. However, I have no idea how I am going to study for Chinese (Which I am not btw) and MCQs…….. I just have to read through the notes and TYS stuff. Not underestimating the MCQs though just that…… It’s…. MCQ. You either know it or you don’t. That and random function has to work like a charm.

About SS, I was so thankful for the questions though time wasn’t exactly on my side. I did question 3 in the end but I actually wasted 15 minutes doing 4a). I was doing the question until my 3rd factor, which I was really doubtful of, I contemplated on my next decision for a few minutes before looking up at the clock and thinking to myself “Fuck this, I am doing question 3″. It was already 1500 by then. Managed to finish the SEQ by the end of the paper with 30 seconds to spend, which I wasted by accidentally cancelling out the first part of my question 3a). This took like 3 seconds before I realised WTF! Then I had to carefully cancel the cancellation while writing a note of reminder to the marker “Please ignore the cancellations “. Oh My.

Oh yeah, from what Nicholas Koh said, Nan Hua spotted all the questions this year, not Ngee Ann. Sian
